While I missed the mark of 7 hours and 100 miles, I did a quite impressive 4h 6m and 66 miles. Not bad. I'm still thinking about April...
While at the gym at couple of days ago, I started thinking of a grueling-yet-attainable workou0t goal for the month.
Because that workout (and most others) was cardio, I figured the goal should be cardio based; here's what I came up with:
7 hours of cardio minimum for the month. In addition, 100 miles of total cardio.
How this can be accomplished;
SIMPLE!
* Based on past results, I can complete 2 elliptical miles at a near "sprint" pace in about 16 minutes; a more relaxed pace is a 10 minute mile, thus if I complete 3 total elliptical miles a week, that's 26 minutes (in one week).
* 8 miles can be accomplished in 30 minutes (give or take) on the stationary bike; if this is accomplished 3 times a week, that's 90 minutes and 24 miles (in one week)
A one week total is 116 minutes, and 27 miles; multiply that by 4 weeks, 464 (nearly 8 hours) and 108 miles.
Wish me luck!

...personal trainer.
Yup, you read that right. I'm dipping my toes into the realm of personal training. No, I'm not giving up IT...hell, I'm not even being paid for it...well, in a monetary sense anyway *wink wink, nudge nudge*
Overboard and I are taking a cruise in October with a group of friends(6 of us total) and she has established some fitness goals in preparation. I offered my assistance for two reasons:
1). I want to know if what I offer up as advice is helpful
2). She's quite adamant about her goals and I want to see her achieve them.
Originally, I wanted to offer to help all three women; given the varying schedules of all six, that would've been pretty hard but I did not want to deprive Overboard of my help...also, I think given some of the personalities, I wouldn't have 100% cooperation anyway. Cooperation is the most important thing in situations like this. We agreed that I won't ask her to do something she cannot; she agreed to not to refuse to do anything I ask.
I have a few things in mind, some are torturous (yea, yea, I know, but I've told her this already), some are my attempts to break down the few things that Overboard "won't" do (it's not a long list; but from having her accompany me on some of my workouts, I know there are things that she will not do) but they will all help her...after all, she is *my* date on those formal nights --she will already be the most stunning woman in that room, I'm just out to widen the gap.
Be Solely (because you better believe that Overboard will be...hehehe...muahahaha --just kidding Hun)

Oh yea, I also feel that it's necessary to drop in a hint of props to Overboard; thus far, she has done everything asked of her...even weighing herself at night...after a dinner out...and having to get out of bed to do it. It's only day 3, but first 10 are always the hardest --she's handling like a champ. Keep it up Hun!
...you're bound to run into someone familiar; I recently discovered two of my classmates live in the Metro (mind you, I'm from NE Ohio), one of which very, very close to where I live.
Picklez yesterday had a similar, but much more interesting story.
While at LA Fitness gettin' my cardio/torture on, I noticed a rather muscular guy on the machine next to me. I kinda glanced over, admiring (in a I-like-girls-but-can-appreciate-hard-work way) and thought nothing more of it. Then a younger guy comes over to him and starts talking to him...he then motions his 2 friends over to him then I heard the guys name...none other than former San Fransisco 49er

Garrison Hearst. As a somewhat former Niners fan, I thought to myself wow, how cool...but I didn't "mark out" like the other guy did...I let him enjoy his workout, I had work of my own to do.
This breaks my consecutive streak of only seeing former Atlanta Falcon

Jamal Anderson in public.
